Training Center

The Idaho Children’s Trust Fund / Prevent Child Abuse Idaho provides training and technical assistance to its grantees and a network of people and organizations working to strengthen families and prevent child abuse. Our annual Strengthening Families Training Institute, or SFTI, is our premier training event held each year in March.

Additionally, we offer the following training opportunities:

HOPE Conquers ACEs

  • HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences) is a framework built on key positive experiences that can help combat the presence of ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences).
  • This is a formal evidence-informed training and there are several trainers throughout Idaho.
  • Length: 2-6 hours

The Brain Architecture Game (their site)

  • Interactive game that showcases positive and negative experiences and how they can potentially shape a developing brain.
  • Length: 1.5 hours

Darkness to Light/Stewards of Children

  • Details practical ways to minimize opportunity for child sexual abuse.
  • This is a formal evidence-informed and trauma-informed training and there are several trainers throughout Idaho.
  • Length: 2 hours (associated cost for materials)

  • Training for your agency about how to talk to parents about creating a plan for when their baby cries.
  • Length: varies, can fit into 30 mins up to an hour.
